Carrie Philp, Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)
Board Certified Behaviour Analyst
I am a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) who has experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of Autism.
I have worked within the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis since 2013, including teaching school-aged clients with a diagnosis of Autism and additional learning difficulties, within both school and home-based settings.
I began working at an ABA specific Independent School in July 2013, and during the years that followed, I worked with pupils of a variety of ages, abilities and personalities. During this time I achieved my Masters in Applied Behaviour Analysis, completed my supervised practice, and earned my BCBA certification in June 2020. I relocated to Dorset and started working on home-based ABA programmes with Blossom ABA Ltd in August 2020.
I have experience with Applied Behaviour Analysis based assessments and teaching curricula, including the Verbal Behaviour Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), Assessment for Functional Living Skills (AFLS) and Promoting Emergence of Advanced Knowledge (PEAK), to name a few.
I have experience working with young people who display a variety of different profiles, needs and backgrounds. I also have extensive experience completing Functional Behaviour Assessments and writing Behaviour Support Plans which have resulted in a reduction in behaviours that may pose a risk to young people and others. I believe that with the correct tools in place, everyone can be supported to manage their behaviour and learn effective ways to have their wants and needs met, empowering them to improve their own quality of life. Everyone has different wants and needs which should be respected, accommodated, and celebrated, and I advocate for this for all people I serve and support.
